We offer a Physiotherapy service to new or expectant Mummies and their family now located at Milkwood Studios, Tusmore.
Mummyotherapy was conceived in 2016, and after a long gestation, born in 2020. This business was created out of necessity of Mummies who need physiotherapy help for their pains and weaknesses during pregnancy and the months and years after birth. Initially Mummyotherapy was based around home visits but I am now based in the calm and nurturing Milkwood studios which has rooms for physiotherapy and massage treatments but also a Pilates studio to allow for gentle and relaxing return to exercise. Please feel free to bring your baby with you to your consultation and be rest assured you don’t need a referral to come to see us.
Melli is a born and bred South Australian, who studied a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia.
Melli left Adelaide for 10 years working in hospitals and private practices both interstate and overseas whilst enjoying all the adventures the world had to offer.
She did further studies in Muscle Energy Techniques for the Pelvis and Lumbar spine, the Cervical, Thoracic spine and Ribs, Dry Needling as well as Visceral Manipulation which is a unique skill to treat internal scar tissue that may have occurred with pregnancy or surgeries/ trauma.
She returned home to her family in Adelaide and worked in a private practice for 3 years. While doing so met the love of her life (about time) and they soon married and had their daughter Misaki.
During maternity leave, Melli completed further studies in Women’s Health Physiotherapy and then commenced work at a practice focusing on this area. After 3 years, she has opted to now take Mummyotherapy from a blog to a business.
Melli comes armed with the latest research but also the invaluable first hand experience of being a Mummy which allows her to understand the issues a mother may have both emotionally and physically.
Melli is an APA (Australian Physiotherapy Association) and WHTA (Women’s Health Training Associates) member and has a police clearance.
